VOLCANO ETNA IN ALL ITS GLORY, FROM
DESTRUCTION TO RECONSTRUCTION

Etna, the Sicilian volcano famous worldwide, is offering
a unique show with its eruption and lava fountains.
From its energy and power, we draw our lava stone to
transform it in products that are unique in their kind.

I would also like to to share with you the “Panta Rhei” project, developed a few years ago in collaboration with the architect Igor Markov - GMP Arckitekten Berlin.
This is a design and construction of three-dimensional modules in lava stone, partly left natural and partly glazed, which generates a dynamic composition and an articulated surface, that we want to describe in the words of it’s designer :
“Panta Rhei” (everything flows).
The wave is the manifestation of all changes. By means of diamond milling heads, the hard basalt of the Etna Volcano is sculpted, creating sinuous and light shapes, then glazed green and alternating with color the natural living material, it is brought into fusion at over 1000 degrees. 5676 modules in the format 10x80x2 / 4 cm adorn to a height of 2.4 meters circular flowerbeds with trees like a sweet embrace in the Caucasian park of Krasnodar in Russia all to eliminate the contrast between matter and symbolism, between water and fire, hard stone and light form”.
A job that continues to give me satisfaction and a meeting, the one with Igor, which has enriched our know-how and the company’s technical skills.
